As we age, the natural oils on our skin change and a compound called 2-nonenal can form on the skin's surface. Many people notice it as a different body odor later in life. Persiva is made with persimmon tannins to wash that odor away, and persimmon has been used in Japanese body care for generations for exactly this reason.

Nonenal (2-nonenal) is a compound that forms naturally when the oils on our skin oxidize. It is usually described as a greasy, slightly musty smell that tends to become more noticeable from around age 40. It is a normal part of getting older and has nothing to do with how clean you are.

You may notice a greasy or musty smell on shirt collars, pillowcases and bedding, even shortly after washing. It is often strongest around the back of the neck, behind the ears, the chest and the back.

Yes. Odor can also sit in fabrics, so wash clothing, towels, pillowcases and bedding regularly. Body odor can also be influenced by things a soap cannot change, such as diet, medication or a medical condition. If you notice a sudden or strong change in body odor, please talk to your doctor.

Persiva is fragrance-free and made for everyday use. If you have very sensitive skin, an allergy or a skin condition, try it on a small area first and stop using it if irritation occurs.

For best results, use the bar daily in the shower or bath.

Wet the bar, work it into a rich lather and wash as you normally would. Give a little extra attention to the back of the neck, behind the ears, chest and underarms. Rinse well.

Skin feels soft and clean from the first wash. Give it daily use for the first 30 days. Results can vary from person to person.

Let the bar air dry between uses and keep it out of standing water. A draining soap dish helps it last longer.

Delivery takes between 5 and 10 business days, excluding weekends, public holidays and unforeseen carrier delays.

In the rare event that your package is lost in transit, we will reship your order at no additional cost. We may ask the carrier to confirm the loss first.
